Hi all

Last week was a scheduled R&R (Rest and Relaxation). It initiated our half way mark for the trip. We went to a coastal town called Kovalam. The weather was the same (hot and humid) but the ocean was a beautiful sight, reminding me of home. I got in the water and swam once and two of our guys got to go surfing. They said it was really rough. It was very nice to enjoy air conditioning and ice cream!
After that we went to a conference in Pondicherry for two days and we spoke twice a day to young women who were a mix of Christians and Hindus. They were very attentive and the translator assured us that many seeds were planted.
Three days ago we arrived in Neyveli where we will be spending the next 5 weeks. We believe that it will be very similar to how it was before; village outreaches and many house visits. The atmosphere is a bit different here. During church on Sunday we could feel more of the Holy Spirit amongst the people. They are very humble. I saw a 70 year old woman dance before the Lord.
Today we went to a pastors conference and us girls got to share with the wives and have personal, in depth conversations. It was very sweet because women here are very inhibited. Not one man was in the room so they were able to say what they felt. A few of them shared that their struggles were so difficult that they wanted to die; commit suicide. Without consulting one another, God put on all 5 of our hearts to speak about struggles and trials; and this was before we even met them. (I spoke on Romans 5:3-5)
Praise Reports:
~We have done a lot of traveling these past few days and He protected all of us the whole way.
~A few weeks prior we weren't sure about the R&R but someone donated $2300; the exact amount we needed for all 8 of us to go. We felt so blessed ~One of the team members had been praying for their brother in North Carolina to come to know God and get saved and we recently found out he did!
Prayer Requests:
~team morale: a few of us are growing weary with all of life's challenges. Pray for us to finish strong.
~Personal healing: My digestive system is messed up and brings hours of pain at a time. The physical pain is creating emotional struggles.
~funds: We are still financially short as a team and I personally still owe about $500. If it's on your heart to give or you know someone checks can be mailed to Send Ministries : 4052 Alto St, Oceanside, CA 92056. If you put my name in the memo they will know what team to send it to.
Thanks for taking the time. If you want prayer for anything E-mail me. I have lots of time dedicated to prayer.
Mallory
Greetings,
Last week was really emotional. I asked for more compassion for the people and He was faithful to answer. The translator called me over to pray for this young pregnant girl and he explained that if she doesn't have a boy, the husband won't let her keep it; for they already have two girls. She said she wanted to keep it no matter what because the child is a gift. I put my hand on her stomach and I broke down. I was touching a baby that might not be accepted after it is born. And afterward I saw the husband push her around quite roughly. It led me to fast that night out of desperation. I dont think I will ever see her again.
The following night we did house visits again in a different village. Every house we shared the gospel, everyone wanted to grasp on to the hope of Jesus. We were about to leave and for some reason our translator led us to this house out of the way. It was a family of 11 maybe. I shared the gospel and I asked if anyone wanted to pray to accept Christ. The father was the most doubtful but one teenage daughter said she did. So I asked her to come closer to me and repeat the prayer. When I start; the whole family ends up repeating the prayer. It felt awesome. When we left and went back to the bus our translator told us that he was blown away because that father at the last house was wearing the typical garments of a Hindu priest; a leader of Hinduism! Amazing. Pray for this man because he is for sure going to have some serious inner struggles!
This week will be our last week of ministry in Thiruvannamalai. We have been here for about 7 weeks. Satan is trying to stop us from going out with a bang. Two of our team members have fevers and the pastor we serve under is falling under some serious persecution. Coincidence? I think not. We are not going to let anything get in the way of Gods work this week.
Praise reports:~ We ran into some walls but people are still getting saved
~about $350 was sent in last week
~A dog ran off with my shoe in a village and a little boy got it back for me
~as a team we are still unified and in good spirits
Prayer requests: ~That God will provide financially for us to move on to the next city after this
week
~That the two sick girls on our team will continue to recover and not have to miss any outreaches
~please pray for our health and comfort
~for God to grow us and teach us and reveal mighty things to us everyday
Love you all,
Mallory
